A letter for the relatives of the dearly departed.

If you wish, OSF will send a letter to the relatives of the person you wish to commemorate, in this way you will be closer to them. Here is the kind of letter they might receive:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inform you that we have received a donation in memory of – name of dearly departed – from – name of donor –. A great gesture of love for others.

In commemorating those who are no longer with us, donor name has made a tangible contribution to helping those who are near to us but have nothing, who are alone and marginalised and need help. Elderly people on their own, ill people that can’t afford the treatment they need, people who have lost their jobs, families that have come from far afield to escape from war and poverty.

For thousands of these poor and marginalised people, Opera San Francesco is a refuge where they can get food to combat their hunger, comfort to overcome their solitude, medical care to alleviate their suffering and clean clothes to restore their dignity.

The donation offered in memory of – name of dearly departed – is a way of helping them, listening to them and making sure they are not left alone to fend for themselves, a ray of hope for those who are suffering.

Yours sincerely.

Your generous gesture will do good and can also be deducted.

In fact, all donors can take advantage of tax benefits for the donations they make to NPOs in memory of the departed. Fondazione Opera San Francesco per i Poveri has acquired the status of Non-Profit Organisation.

In particular, for natural persons donations are alternatively:

  • deductible from their total net income tax up to a limit of 10% of their overall declared income (art. 83 paragraph 2 of Leg. Decree 117/2017).

This detraction/deduction is permitted on the condition that said donations and contributions are made via a bank or post office or using the other payment systems indicated in art. 23 of Leg. Decree 241/1997, or via other methods that enable the inland revenue to carry out thorough controls.

The above incentives cannot be combined with the tax benefits contained in other provisions. As such, donors cannot apply multiple tax benefits to the same donation.
